Who's the audience Marx and Engels are addressing?

The audience that Marx and Engels were addressing seems to be the lower class, or peasants of the time. These are people who were born into a lower class, with very little money and poor quality-of-life, in relation to the rich aristocrats who were born into great wealth. In the time which Marx and Engels lived there was a great disparity between the rich and poor. The people at the time also were under the impression that “God” has put them in that time and place and that they were born into their class or life and could do nothing to change that. They believed that this was the way that life was intended for them, this idea was further established by aristocrats who used their class and wealth to further the status quo and to keep the poor, poor for good.

The direct audience that Marx and Engels were addressing seems to be the lower class but their message is also intended to be brought to the attention of the upper class and sort of, putting it in their faces that in fact there is another way to live life. Marx and Engels make it very clear that just because your father was rich should not mean that you are rich just because you were born into it, and that being born into wealth and a high quality of life, does not mean it is meant for only those who already have it.
