Freud And Lacan

Freud's work relates to literature in the sense that he talks about how dreams are made and how they are interpreted. Like literature dreams too have a origin and while some have meaning others don't. Freud talks about dreams being of two kind, one is symbolic dreams, which are dreams that have meaning while plastic dreams are dreams that just appear and there are no representation of them. Even though there are many theories there is no real way of proving any of them to be correct. Lacan seems to also extend on dreams and the meaning and interpretations of dreams. He writes of the dreams we have and why we dream.
